General Summary of Duties:

Responsible to supply servers with food items and supplies for the front of the restaurant to function effectively. Responsible for general table maintenance and cleanliness of restaurants in accordance to specification, in a courteous and efficient manner.


Typical Physical/Mental Demands:

Requires mobility, bending, and reaching from floor level to six (6) feet. Ability to reach a minimum of two feet across a table to serve guests. Transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering trays and carts weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds through crowded areas. Sense of smell, touch, and sound. Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to distinguish letters, symbols, and colors. Normal vision and hearing range.


Typical Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a crowded environment (i.e., areas having a two-foot access). Use of chemical and electrical equipment. Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.


Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):

  1. Serve general items such as soups, salads, and beverages to guests as necessary.
  2. Set tables with silverware and glassware, restocks server stations.
  3. Clean tabletops and chairs.
  4. Make coffee and keep a fresh supply of coffee and water available.
  5. Supply service bar with food such as soups, salads, and desserts.
  6. Stock up the runner station with all required items needs
  7. Clean area and station clean.
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Performance Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities)

Knowledge of electrical equipment usage. Working knowledge of acceptable standards of sanitation and proper chemical usage. Ability to read, write, and understand English. Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, and guests. Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.


Education:                 High school education or equivalent.

Experience:               Relevant experience in a high quality, high volume operation preferred.

License/Certificate:  Food Safety Employee Training required.
